COVID-19 Update—Spring 2021
Hello, Exploratory Studies students.
The Center for Academic Success & Exploration (CASE) is here for you (with physical distancing guidelines in place). Our office hours remain the same – Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and our academic support and social connections remain the same, too. Similar to fall 2020, our meetings will be “by appointment” and mostly virtual.
We can be reached easily through email, phone, or Zoom appointments; plus, we have QR codes that are posted on our office door in Jordan Hall 144. Here is our contact information:
- CASE Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
- CASE Phone: 317-940-9308
- CASE directory for your academic advisor’s contact information
You can also contact me at 317-940-8869 or email@example.com.
Please reach out to us with any questions or concerns—we will navigate this journey together!

Finding the area of study that’s best for you is often a journey in itself. Through Exploratory Studies, you can try out many of your interests and develop new skills before fully immersing yourself in a major.
The Exploratory Studies program is full of ways to help you discover the many possibilities you have at Butler. You’ll learn about our 65+ majors by observing classes and using faculty as your guide. You’ll take assessments to discover your strengths, values, and interests. You will even participate in job shadows and interviews to explore where your degree could take you after college. And this program is not just for new students, but also for students who are currently in a major, but are considering changing or adding a second major or a minor.
Exploratory Studies is a community of students and advisors who will help you unlock your passions, believe in yourself, and build confidence in the path you choose.
It is much easier to make confident academic and career-related decisions when you know who you are and what is important to you.
Find Your Passion
For some, deciding what to study in college can be one of the hardest decisions to make. The Exploratory Studies major provides you with countless options.
