Dual Credit

Butler University accepts “dual credit”, or credit for college-level courses taken while in high school. These courses may be completed at a high school, on a college campus, or through online platforms.

Dual credit provides a jump start on your college education, giving you the flexibility to pursue second majors, minors, additional internships or study abroad during your time at Butler.

Dual credits are considered similarly to transfer credit:

  • College-level coursework must be offered in partnership with an accredited college or university.
  • College-level coursework must be at the 100-level or above.
  • Coursework must be completed with a C- or better.
  • Coursework may be applied to major or minor requirements, to Butler Core Curriculum requirements, or accepted as electives.
  • Students must submit official transcripts from the partnering college or university to receive Butler credit.
