Students at the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology  can now study for their first 2 years at SLIIT and their final 2 years at Butler University  in Indianapolis, Indiana, alongside award-winning faculty.

The Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) and Butler University partnered to offer the 2+2 degree program for students aspiring to complete their studies in the USA. SLIIT students now have the option to earn their bachelor’s in Actuarial Science degree from Butler University after completing required SLIIT courses for the first two years of their degree.

Butler University is located in Indianapolis, Indiana, the 16th largest city in the USA. Butler’s Actuarial Science program is accredited by UCAP-AC (Universities and Colleges with Actuarial Programs – Advanced Curriculum) from the Society of Actuaries (SOA) with coursework that prepares students to take the SOA examinations required for SOA Associate credentials.

Program Details

Academic Requirements
  • Minimum grade of C in the SLIIT courses listed below under Coursework for Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science.
  • Official college transcript demonstrating a minimum 2.50 GPA at SLIIT at the time of application and no grade of C or below in the most recent semester.
  • The English Proficiency Requirements waived for students with SLIIT courses on their transcript that were taught entirely in English.
Application Process

Important Dates:

  • August 1: Application opens to start Fall term of the following year—apply via the Common App.
  • May 1: Deadline to apply for Fall term start.
