Online Education and Educational Technology (OEET) FAQ

Online Education and Educational Technology (formerly known as “Academic Partnerships” or the “Center for Academic Technology”) promotes teaching and learning through the effective use of online education and academic technology by working with faculty and academic staff to promote thoughtful and effective use of academic technology.
Our team includes instructional technologists, learning experience designers, interactive media designers, and leaders dedicated to building supportive communities around digital pedagogy. We offer support in creating accessible course materials and provide guidance, training, and feedback on online course design, as well as on Butler’s academic technology systems, including Canvas, Panopto, WordPress, Zoom, Google Apps, and Poll Everywhere. OEET also manages the Digital Transformation Ambassador (DXA) student employee program, which aims to provide students with experiential learning opportunities focused on developing their digital skills and understanding of technology-driven education.
The Online Faculty Orientation (OFO) is designed for faculty scheduled to teach online who have not yet completed Butler-specific training, but can be useful to anyone who teaches online. It was shaped by two years of valuable faculty feedback and addresses the evolving landscape of online education. To enroll in the training, please email oeet@butler.edu. Additional details will be communicated in collaboration with your college leadership.
Our staff are available for consultation virtually and in person. Send an email to oeet@butler.edu to submit a consultation request.
