Army ROTC Scholarships

High school students who are interested in the Army ROTC program can receive funding through a national scholarship opportunity that will cover the full cost of tuition. Learn more about the ROTC scholarship program and application deadlines at goarmy.com.

The Butler Room Award

Students who receive a full tuition Army ROTC scholarship—either as a high school student or current Butler student—are also eligible for the Butler Room Award.

Butler is committed to providing up to eight room awards per academic year for those pursuing a first undergraduate degree. The ROTC program will notify our University of eligible scholars interested in Butler who are being awarded Army ROTC full tuition awards.

The Butler Room Award is equivalent to the charge for a double room in Irvington House (cap) or your actual room charge, whichever is less. Room charges that exceed the cap will be the student’s responsibility. Award is for academic year only and cannot be used for summer terms.

Eligibility Requirements

Award availability is based on first-come, first-served basis for up to eight room awards per academic year.  Should a recruiter identify more than eight students eligible for room awards in one academic year, a waitlist will be created on a first-come first-served basis utilizing the date the recruiter identified the eligible student for awarding.  Students will be notified if waitlist is established and room award is not available at time of request.

To be eligible for a Butler Room Award, ROTC students must meet the requirements listed below.

  • Complete the FAFSA each year by the deadline.
  • Be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program.

Housing assignments made after August 1 will not be eligible for the Room  Award.
