You will earn steady income—as a student—through your work experience at UnitedHealthcare, both during the school year and in the summer. You will work part-time at least 10 hours per week during the school year, and full-time throughout the summer. You will earn very competitive compensation that progresses based on the role.
You will be required to obtain your health and life insurance license to enable you to sell insurance products across multiple states. UnitedHealthcare will cover expenses related to exam prep, up to two exam attempts, and any applicable state license costs. The total value of this benefit is approximately $6,000–$7,000.
UnitedHealthcare will launch a mentor program to connect program participants with experienced sales professionals across the organization. These mentors will support you as you connect with the work culture and expectations, and will also serve as a professional development resource as you move through the various sales roles.
During your senior year of college, you will step through the process for consideration of full-time employment. If offered a full-time job, you won't need to engage in a job search and it will reduce the uncertainty of securing your first career opportunity. Full-time positions offer competitive compensation, a full set of benefits, and continued access to professional development opportunities.
This program is designed to provide years of work-based experience through a learn-and-apply approach. Upon successful completion, you will be well-positioned to advance within sales and explore other opportunities with UnitedHealthcare.
