Integrated Communication

The integrated communication concentration area includes courses in both public relations and advertising, and is designed to address a rapidly expanding international market for coordinated strategic business communication. This concentration area teaches students how to develop and design effective communication campaigns and gives them the option of starting a career in the public relations, advertising or integrated communication field. It also combines coursework in public relations and advertising with courses in psychology, law and business, giving students a well-rounded understanding of mass communication in the corporate world.

Students may be graduated upon completion of 120 semester hours, including the core curriculum, 40 hours of upper-division work, foreign language and computer competency requirements, and a major in the college.

Internship experience is a very important part of the curriculum and is integrated into the program because of the university's location in Indianapolis and its wide selection of intern opportunities.

** Electives - This is an opportunity to develop some in depth preparation in areas that will compliment the integrated communication sequence such as business management, marketing and management science or to select a minor. Talk to your advisor for recommendation.
