The Fairbanks Center and Technology Resources
The Richard M. Fairbanks Center for Communication and Technology
houses the Eugene S. Pulliam School of Journalism as well as the
departments of media arts, communication studies, and computer
science and the offices of The Collegian and Dawgnet.
Journalism students can take advantage of the Center's
state-of-art computer labs and classrooms equipped with the latest
word processing, desktop publishing, graphics and spreadsheet
software. All labs and classrooms in the Fairbanks Center are
equipped with broadband Internet connections, a data/video
projector and VCR/DVD. Students can use the labs as an information
resource and a place to work on assignments and out-of-class
projects.
In addition, the Center includes wireless Internet, two
full-sized television studios, a control room, editing bays and two
digital audio recording studios. Located on the southwest side of
the campus, the facility provides students with several informal
gathering areas that overlook the picturesque Central
Canal, its Towpath and surrounding woods.
